
Julie Ellen "Tawny," Kitaen was an American model and actress. She lived between May 7th, 2021 until August 5, 1961. Her acting career in television started with Malibu (1983) as well as California Girls (1985). She was also in comedy The Perils of Gwendoline and Bachelor Party (both 1984) and the film of horror Witchboard (1986). Kitaen was a popular choice for her roles in numerous rock music videos of heavy metal, such as Ratt's "Back for More" (1984) and Whitesnake's "Still of the Night", "Is This Love" and "Here I Go Again" (all 1987).In the early 2000s, Kitaen transitioned into appearing on reality TV series which included The Surreal Life (2006) and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008), the latter of which documented Kitaen's problems with substance abuse. Julie Kitaen was the youngest of three children. She was born in San Diego in 1961 to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was an actress and former beauty pageant contestant, and Terry Kitaen who worked for an organization that made neon signs. Kitaen's mother was of Scottish and Irish heritage, and her father was of Russian Jewish descent. [3] Kitaen was raised within the Jewish religion. [4][5] She began using the name "Tawny" when she was 12 on her own initiative. [6] She was dyslexic as a child. This made her abandon Mission Bay High School. 7 years old when she went to see Penny Frampton perform at Balboa Stadium. [9]
